TVXQ & AKB48's influence,
the Japanese market has grown

Following the single that was released last week, the album that was released this week also topped the charts with the most sales in the market this year.

Tohoshinki's Best selection album debuted top on the charts, with an outstanding result of 19.0 billion yen worth of sales, coming out as the weekly sales winner as of 1st March on both Music and video polls. This is also the highest record amongst the albums released in 2010. With this impact, this week's market size, as compared to the same week last year, increased with a total percentage of 120.3%, 54.7 billion yen, therefore coming up as the highest weekly market size of the year. Despite being a single, coming up second on the chart is AKB48's 桜の栞, with a debut results with 4.0 billion yen worth of sales. The weekly market size for singles compared to last year's was increased to 118.2%. With the push of both Tohoshinki's Best selection album and AKB48's 桜の栞 single, the music industry's market size had increased to 125.6%, which had a two digits growth for the two consecutive weeks as compared to the same period last year.
