Popular Korean group Tohoshinki’s new album “TONE” has recorded sales of 105,00 on the first day, debuting at the top position in the Oricon daily rankings. This album exceeded the first day sales of their previous album “The Secret Code” (Total sales : 330,000 copies) which sold 83,000 copies (on first day) by 22,000 copies, and this is the first original album that has exceeded 100,000 copies in first day sales.
Their first album since restarting activities, “TONE” has 13 tracks, including their single “Why (Keep Your Head Down) and “Superstar.” The format of sale include two CD + DVD versions, and a CD only version, a total of three types. The CD only version includes “Somebody To Love -2011 Version-“ and has a total of 15 tracks.
So far, Tohoshinki has released 4 original albums, and 3 “best of” albums, with the “BEST SELECTION 2010”(Total Sales: 590,000 copies) which was released in February 2010 recorded at the number 1 spot of the weekly album rankings. With a good start, attention has been placed on whether this can be their second album, and first original album that takes the top spot (of the Oricon weekly rankings.)
(T/N: Although the reported release date for “TONE” is 28 September, it was already on sale by 27 September – which is why they took top spot on the day before their album was supposed to be released. )
