20 K-POP idol teams will be visiting Thailand; it is expected that the airport, as well as the hotels and facilities around the concert arena, will be filled with Hallyu fans.
MBC is planning to hold the <50th> at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Ticket sales are set to commence in Thaialnd soon and it is expected that fans from Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines will be flocking in to see the performance.
The event will be attended by various K-POP stars who have shaken the Thai charts such as TVXQ, Girls' Generation, Wondergirls, 2PM, BEAST, Brown Eyed Girls, CN Blue, Miss A, Secret, 4Minute, T-ara, MBLAQ, FR Island, SG Wannabe, Afterschool, SISTAR, and Son Dambi. U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin, who have made a comeback as a two member TVXQ, will be visiting their fans in Southeast Asia for the first time in two years and their appearance is set to raise quite a stir.
(omitted)
Ticket prices are quite expensive with the most costly tickets going at 6000 Baht (approximately 220,000 KRW). The other prices are 4500, 3500, 2500, 1500 and 900.
On the other hand, certain representatives of the industry are not viewing this event in a good light. They criticize that MBC is biting off more than it can chew in the heat of the K-POP Hallyu Wave. The Korean Entertainment Producers' Association released an official announcement expressing its concern over the continued overseas K-POP performances scheduled by broadcasting companies. If large-scale performances like this open in Thailand, some believe that it will be almost impossible for solo concerts to succeed in the first half of this year, no matter who the K-POP star is. But aside from MBC's concert, KBS is planning to hold a large-scale concert in Japan and SBS is also beginning to prepare for overseas expansion.
